The media was buzzing with speculation of the possibility of a rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya and now they have come to a halt with Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer confirming that an announcement was forthcoming.

Schaefer also concluded that the dates for the rematch would be sometime in September and they are yet to finalize on the venue with lots of vendors showing interest. So this time the venue may move out of Las Vegas for the rematch.

Just to refresh your memories on the events of last May, Mayweather won a split decision to takeaway De La Hoya’s junior middleweight belt.

The previous record was help by the bout between Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson.

The critics are speculation whether the rematch will be a success as the first bout but then sports writers are expecting nothing less than an amazing fight.
